SMS Marketing and Your Brand: Our 4 Step Process – Step 1

It’s really important that your SMS marketing campaign showcases your brand and each text message comes across in the way you want it to. It just wouldn’t feel right for a local takeaway to use too much jargon and corporate language in a text message. In the same way it wouldn’t feel right for an established accountant to take the informal tone of a market trader. Conveying your brand correctly is crucial for SMS marketing success.

We’ve developed a 4-step process to help you create a simple and clear communication strategy that is for you.

Our 4-step system is simple and easy to use, which is exactly what we believe marketing should be. Simple, clear, friendly and easy to understand.

  1. Who are you?
    • Write a little about you. A 160 character introduction to be precise. Take the next 5 minutes to write a brief introduction that is only 160 characters long (the same as a 1 text message credit).
  2. Who do you want to talk to?
    • List everyone your company would like to talk to.
  3. How are you going to talk to them?
    • Now write down all the methods you could use to talk to them. We want to align your text message marketing with the rest of your marketing tools (social, web, print etc).
  4. What do you want them to do?
    • Here we would like you to write your ‘call to actions’. A call to action is a prompt to do something, such as encouraging the reader to click on a ‘Click Here’, or ‘Buy Now’ link or button. Write a few examples below.
